Powerful Cabernets – 4 Week Wine Course $160.00

Please join wine educator Svetlana Yanushkevich for a fun and informative wine class about the king of wine grapes – Cabernet, at The Wine Steward in Hampstead, NH.

Legendary Napa Valley – The Napa Valley has become the most famous wine region in the United States.  In this class you will have unique opportunities to taste and learn differences in Cabs from Oakville, Rutherford, Stags Leaps, St-Helena, and Yountville sub-regions.

Mountain Cabernets – In this class you will taste and learn about more concentrated, powerful and age worthy Cabs from steeper, higher-altitude sites on Mount Veeder, Spring Mountain, Howell Mountain , Atlas Peak and Alexander Valley in CA, and from the Salta Region of Argentina, which has the highest vineyards in the world (up to 7,000 ft above sea level).

Washington State vs. Sonoma vs Paso Robles Cabernets – Did you know that many wine professionals believe that Cabs from WA, from a great vineyard in a great vintage, are better than Napa’s Cabs? Sonoma offers a reliable, more graceful alternative to the power of Napa. Many of these Sonoma Cabs have an attractive spiciness that I rarely taste in the fruitier Napa Cabs. Paso Robles produces very rich and more consistent Cabs than Napa and Sonoma. Join us to learn the differences in styles, and vote for your favorites.

Cabs from around the World & Opus One – Think Cabernet Sauvignon begins and ends in Napa? Think again! From Argentina to New Zealand – and nearly all points in between – Cab is king, producing big, plush reds of both power and finesse. Take a spin on the global Cab trail – no passport required. Come and taste (arguably) the world’s best red grape variety from France, Argentina, South Africa, Australia, and Portugal. The course graduation gift from Svetlana will be a sampling of the legendary Napa Cabernet-Opus One.
