Brazilian Wine Dinner, May 26th
Please join us on Thursday May 26th (6-9pm) at the Merrimack Valley Golf Club for a very special “Brazilian Wine Dinner”. You will have an incredible opportunity to taste brand new to the USA Brazilian wines brought by The Imported Grape Wine Company. We will be joined by special guest Gustavo Moral, President of The Imported Grape Wine Company. He has a big passion for and deep knowledge of South American wines, and has been a featured educator at the Boston Wine Expos. He will give a short presentation about Brazilian wines.
The creative Brazilian menu will be prepared by a very talented chef – Patricia Ribeiro. She was born in Brazil, and her culinary style is influenced by her rich heritage and experience in Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro. She graduated from Boston University with a Master’s degree in Culinary Arts. Patricia has over 20 years of experience as a culinary teacher in various culinary school; as a food stylist for various commercial photographers, and as a Personal Chef. She is also an artist: jewelry making and mixed media painting.
All wine food and wine pairings were done by Svetlana Yanushkevich, DWS, Prefessional Sommelier and the owner of two award winning shops in NH; WineNot Boutique in Nashua (https://winenotboutique.com/), and The Wine Steward in Hampstead (http://thewinestewardnh.com/).

Lump Crab Cakes cooked in a Shell with Coconut Milk, Palm Oil and Tangerine Juice.
Wine: Alisios Pinot Grigio/Riesling, Campanha, Brazil, (retail price $14.99)
The wine is made on a farm that houses relics of the first ever wine cellar in Brazil. Crisp flavors of lime and ripe apples, with a mineral twist from the Riesling grape.
Watercress, Cucumber, Julienne Mango, Heart of Palm and Toasted Cashews, served with a Citrus Vinaigrette.
Wine: Miolo Family Vineyards Chardonnay, Campanha, Brazil, (retail price $19.99)
Fresh green apples combined with delicate citrus aromas on the nose follow through on the palate with a long finish of delicious ripe peaches, green apples and citrus flavors.
Pork loin Stuffed with Prunes, Apricots, Raisins, Ham and Portuguese Chestnuts served with Prune Sauce, Basmati Rice and “Farofa”, (bacon, onions and Brazilian yucca meal).
Wine: Miolo Quinta do Seival (Castas Portuguesas), Campanha, Brazil (retail price $26.99)
An expressive wine that conveys elegance and finesse. A characterful blend of Portuguese grapes (Touriga Nacional / Alfrocheiro / Tinta Roriz), faithful to the long history of Quinta do Seival. The Quinta do Seival vineyard in Campanha, on the southern border with Uruguay, is possibly the oldest vineyard in Brazil. The label is a reproduction of the original label used by Quinta do Seival over 100 years ago.
Braised with Beef Stock, Merlot and Fresh Herbs served with Crisp Yucca Sticks, Watercress and Caramelized Pearl Onions.
Wine: Miolo Lot 43 Merlot/ Cabernet Sauvignon, Serra Gaúcha, Brazil (retail price $37.99)
Lot 43 is a wine icon from Miolo made of only the best harvests of Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) end Merlot (60%). The wine is aged for about a year in American and French barrels. The wine was bottled without filtration, to ensure greater aromatic intensity.
Good intensity red wine with bouquet of prune, black currant, truffles and mint. Full-bodied, with ripe tannins and remarkably long finish.
Creamy Passion Fruit Mousse served with Passion Fruit Sauce
Wine: Miolo Brut Millesime, Serra Gaúcha, Brazil (retail price $23.99)
50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir. Light yellow presenting a green reflection with fine and resistant bubbles. Aromas complex and pleasant range of fruit and aging bouquets (yeast maturation). The taste is balanced with bright acidity, creamy texture and pleasant aftertaste.
