Aldial Naia 2008

Origin: Rueda, Spain. Vineyards located in the town of La Seca, which the locals consider the "grand cru" of Rueda.

Varietal: 100% Verdejo

Tasting Notes: Fresh, lively, and aromatic with superb precision and plenty of crisp, lemony, honeysuckle-like fruit. Bright fruit flavors of grapefruit, lime and kiwi. Crisp acidity and a long dry finish. Fermented and aged in steel, it is the type of light yet soulful white that frequently emerges from Spain. Int'l Wine Cellar 88 points - Rueda, Spain- "100% verdejo: Bright yellow-gold. Expressive melon and orchard fruit aromas are complemented by fresh flowers. Soft and open-knit, with fleshy pear and apple flavors, gentle minerality and good finishing lift."

Food Pairing: It is a wonderful match with grilled seafood or shellfish as well as to sip on its own. Each year we await the new vintage with anticipation, as this is one of our favorite Spanish whites!!!

Delhommeau Harmonie Muscadet 2008

Origin: Muscadet, Loire, France

Varietal: Melon Grape variety of Muscadet.

Tasting Notes: The amalgam of fresh lime, grapefruit, rhubarb, salt, citrus pips, and iodine on the palate puts me a bit in mind of certain Gruner Veltliner, but the combination of sheer intensity with alcoholic lightness and this wine’s juicy, effortless elegance, as well as the sheer mineral vocabulary required in an attempt to capture its finish are archetypal Muscadet.” 91 Points (David Schildknecht, www.erobertparker.com, Aug. 2009)

Food Pairing: It is the ideal partner for grilled fish and shellfish, particularly oysters. This is a great summer wine. Pick up a dozen oysters and enjoy the summer night.

Cantina Gabriele Dolcemente 2009

Origin: Lazio, Italy.

Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon 70% & Cesanese 30%

Tasting Notes: Dolcemente's secret is the blend of the refined character of the Cabernet Sauvignon with the fruitiness of the Cesanese grapes. Intense purple color, fresh floral aromas with notes of berry and cherry, very smooth tannins, and a lovely sweetness on the palate makes you want to enjoy this wine at room temperature or slightly chilled. Kosher For Passover. Mevushal .

Food Pairing: This is a great wine to sip on its own or pair with fruity type desserts and cakes. It can also be paired with hot spiced and sweet sauced foods.

  Mollydooker “The Boxer” Shiraz 2010

We get a very limited allocation of The Mollydooker wines each year. This year we will be getting 2 small shipments of The Boxer Shiraz and other Mollydooker wines. This is the first shipment, with the balance to follow later in the year. Mollydooker is an affectionate Aussie term for Left-Hander – because both Sarah and Sparky Marquis – the husband and wife winemaking team based in McLaren Vale Australia - are both lefties! Besides being left-handed, Sarah & Sparky are some of the most decorated winemakers in the world. They have received more 94-99 point scores from Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate than other winemakers in the world. They have been awarded with five 99-point scores in the last 10 years. Five of their wines have been chosen in the Wine Spectator’s “Top 100” and their Carnival of Love Shiraz has made the “Top 10” list (two years in a row). Sarah & Sparky have been named “Australian Winemakers of the Year”, have been chosen by Robert Parker among the “Top Wine Personalities in the World” and have been crowned “McLaren Vale’s Bushing King and Queen” a record three times. We have recently added several of the Mollydooker wines to our Australian selection of wines.

Origin: McLaren Vale, Australia. The grapes were grown on the Longbottom vineyard in Padthaway, the Birchmore vineyard in Langhorne Creek and the Mollydooker vineyards here in McLaren Vale.

Varietal: 100% Shiraz

Tasting Notes: Very deep black-crimson, The Boxer shows a full spectrum of flavors from fresh berries and plum, to fig and blackberry jam, surrounded by cinnamon spice, licorice, and lovely warm oak with hints of cigar box and tobacco. Soft luscious palate-coating fruit with incredible depth, combined with creamy chocolate oak layers producing a complex wine with amazing power.

Barrel fermented and matured in 60% new and 40% one year old American oak. Alcohol: 16%

Food Pairing: Pairs with BBQs, steak, ribs, anything with a bit of spice.
